What people actually pay
One document, one signer
Notarization session — The common case — an affidavit, a Form 1583, a consent letter.
One document, two signers
Session + 1 additional signer — Both parents on a travel consent, or a buyer and seller together.
Two documents, one signer
Session + 1 additional seal — A vehicle title and its bill of sale in one sitting.
Nothing is charged until your session is complete
Your card is authorized when you start and captured only once the notary has finished and sealed your document. If the session can’t be completed, you aren’t charged for it.
How this compares
State law caps what a notary may charge per signature, and those caps vary widely — but they apply per signature, in person, during someone else’s opening hours. We’ve written up what the alternatives really cost:
Pricing questions
- How much does an online notary cost?
- A Notaron session is $25, which covers one signer and one notarization. Additional notarial seals on the same document set are $5 each, additional signers are $10 each, and a witness is $10. Nothing is charged until your session is complete.
- Do I need an account or a subscription?
- No. You can upload a document and notarize it without creating an account, and there is no monthly fee or contract. Accounts exist for people who notarize regularly and want their documents stored.
- When am I charged?
- Only when the notarization is finished. Your card is authorized during the session and captured once the notary completes the seal — so if the session cannot be completed, you are not charged for it.
- Is it cheaper than a notary in person?
- Usually, once travel is counted. State-capped per-signature fees are often lower than $25, but they apply per signature and require getting to a notary during their opening hours; retail and shipping-store notaries typically charge more per signature than the state cap allows a commissioned notary to charge for the act itself.
- What if my document needs more than one stamp?
- Each additional notarial act on the same session is $5. The flow shows you a running estimate before you pay, so you will see the total before committing to it.
- What if I need a witness?
- An on-demand witness is $10. If you bring your own witness, they can join the same video session from anywhere at no extra charge.
